The Rishikesh exercises in Yoga. What I try to do after the Sun Salutation every morning.
It doesn’t burn many calories, but it helps build body strength and trains the muscles, it helps with flexibility, gives you energy and afterwards you just feel great for a really long time.

There is a crack in everything; that’s how the Light gets through.

After an unfortunately long hiatus, I am back on track and feeling good about moving forward. I’ve had several set-backs on my path to wellness these past few months, but i am dedicating myself fully to becoming the best i can possibly be, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

I recently moved in to an absolutely incredible house with my boyfriend of 2.5 years and our 2 very good friends. it’s been a wonderful journey so far, although trying and frustrating at times (it’s difficult being the only female in a house full of males, but i am doing my best to roll with the punches). i feel so blessed to be here, and i feel as if this experience is going to be an extremely positive one.

I will be posting more about my adventures here, and my trials and tribulations and doubts and fears. if there is one thing i’ve been neglecting more than my health, it’s my writing. this blog will be an outlet for me to get back into the swing of things.

wtfai:

THE best times to eat, sleep, work, do mental work and to have sex are all set out like clockwork in traditional Chinese medicine. They are counts the hours.

There’s a time for everything in traditional Chinese medicine, and timing and schedule are crucial to maintain health.

reflections, etc

this summer (particularly the month of august) was a rough one for me. i’m still working through some body issues, and striving to live a healthy lifestyle; these past few months have been rocky for me in general (emotionally, mentally, financially). lately, there’s been a lot of cigarettes, booze, weed, and crap food/eating habits but that’s all going to change. it’s september, and while i may not be going back to school, it’s time for me to take the time to learn about myself. and be better to myself, in the most basic sense of the words.

  • i am going to be better. i am going to work harder. i am going to discipline myself.
  • more water (i always need to drink more water, even when i think i’ve drank enough)
  • BREAKFAST. really, really, REALLY need to get in the habit of breaking the fast. lately, i find myself pushing through the better part of a day without having consumed anything more than a coffee and a bunch of cigarettes. THIS HAS TO STOP.
  • exercise. i’ve literally done nothing this summer, and there is no excuse. first order of business, i need some bike repairs. i’m going to focus on yoga, pilates, bike rides, bellydancing, light weights and meditation to start.
  • de-clutter. this is one of my biggest problems, and probably the most detrimental to my mental state right now. too much crap, everywhere.
  • FORGIVE MYSELF AND SMILE. smile. smile. breathe. smile.

and update regularly.

this is going to be a great adventure.

namaste.
